One of our most popular services is helping people install an art collection after they've moved in. Sometimes we're just hanging a few pictures in a stairwell, but our most rewarding projects involve placing pieces throughout a home. The art always brings the rooms together and puts the finishing touch on the interior design. In one of the homes we recently visited, our client already knew exactly where she wanted each piece. And her taste was impeccable... after we finished, we looked around and saw that each room was carefully considered to create an eclectic yet welcoming space. I love how these delicate square blue pieces compliment the blue chairs. Look how she upholstered the traditional chair on the right in a shibori resist-dyed fabric... a really nice way to update an old-fashioned piece. She seemed to love the color blue. These two pieces which we hung in the stairwell were particularly intriguing. They appeared to have a celestial South American theme. A collection of oversized botanicals hung in a neat grid set off her pantry beautifully. We loved this quirky portrait of a mischievious little girl, as well as these delicate watercolors showing early biplanes in flight. I also really enjoyed her placement of this big flamingo. I love it when people understand the importance of scale in art. When in doubt, buy big pieces. Her taste was eclectic, but impeccable. In one room, a little tour of Italy; in another, a mysterious forest. Homes that are painted white throughout can sometimes come across as cold; but her art collection brought lots of color and interest to each room. It was a pleasure to work with. A large collection of big pieces can be time-consuming to hang, especially when they need to line up just right.
That's why homeowners all around Asheville rely on us to install their art. It frees up so much time and trouble to have the experts do it! Comments are closed.
