The 2022 Asheville Parade of Homes has come and gone, and this year we had the pleasure of participating. If you keep up with us on Instagram, you might have seen some of these photos already... we helped install the art for the beautiful "Absolom's Wonderland" which was built by Living Stone Construction and decorated by ID.ology. These guys are at the top of their class locally, and it's always a pleasure to work with the pros. I particularly liked the way they worked the homeowner's existing art collection seamlessly into the design. For example, the rich, dark neutrals of these little pieces played well with the built-in wine display. I like the subject, too: little winding European streets where one can imagine a wine shop just around the corner. By the way, notice how they framed two different-sized works with the same sized frame. This is a nice trick for harmonizing a disparate set. I also liked seeing lots of dark hardwood throughout the home, often in natural, unstained tones that showed off the richness of the grain. You see it in the wine room above, but also in the hardwood floors throughout the home. It went well with these wonderful inlaid pieces which we installed in the stairwell and upstairs hallway... ...as well as this marvelous (and heavy!) panel which we hung in the main bedroom. More dark tones in these round picture frames, and these little turtles. They went for a bolder splash of red in the mudroom. Look at the little bees on the cabinet handles. All in all, this home was a pleasure to visit. The architect really understood how to frame a view, whether looking across a room... ...or looking across the Blue Ridge Mountains. Good art in a beautiful home is like nice earrings with a beautiful dress... it's the finishing touch that sets off its surroundings.
So when you're ready to put on the finishing touches on your "forever home," give us a call. We'll make it happen. Comments are closed.
