One of our favorite art installation projects in The Cliffs was this charming family portrait wall in the stairwell of a vacation home.

Before we installed the pictures, we used paper templates so the homeowner could preview the arrangement on the wall.

The project continued up the stairs and into the hallway and guest bedroom; I think we hung more than thirty pictures in total.

Family portrait walls like this are a wonderful choice for vacation homes, because as the years go by and new holidays come around, it gives people something to talk about, and reminisce and tell stories. We like to hang them in hallways, smaller stairwells like this one, and guest bedrooms... anywhere that people can get up close to the wall and take in the details of the photographs. This particular stairwell was especially cute with its nautical navy runner and the seaworthy rope detail around the frames.

Another common request in South Carolina lake country is installing pictures on stone fireplaces. Many of these homes have rustic stone touches, and we've sourced high-quality bolts which work well in masonry joints.

Faux taxidermy mounts and antlers are also very popular in lake and mountain cabins. Even faux moose antlers like this pair can be very heavy and awkward to install, but we carry heavy-duty toggle bolts in our kit which can safely hold 200 pounds per hanging point, so we can get it done!
